InfinityPL™ Solution
Ambyint’s InfinityPL plunger lift optimization solution has achieved successful results since its initial deployment across 25 wells in Tourmaline’s Laprise field in the Montney play in northern British Columbia. Utilizing SCADA-based integration, the solution increases production, optimizes plunger performance, and improves workforce productivity—all without requiring additional hardware.
Key Outcomes
Production Gains
The deployment of InfinityPL improved Tourmaline’s daily gas production by ~2 e³m³ (70 Mcf) per well per day, a 10% improvement. This shifted the annual decline curve to +10% (over 6 months).
Plunger Performance
Well reliability increased by 12%, as evidenced by more consistent plunger arrivals. The need for well intervention significantly decreased, with non-arrivals dropping from 17% to just 1% following the implementation of autonomous control.
Workforce Productivity
A 43% reduction in manual setpoint adjustments was achieved, significantly reducing the need for field staff trips to wellsites.
Optimizing in Dynamic Conditions
The InfinityPL solution is helping Tourmaline navigate the complexities of egress in gathering systems through customized and autonomous optimization strategies. By leveraging pressure-based triggers and autonomous control, Tourmaline has achieved measurable success.
“Ambyint has helped us simplify our operations and get more out of our wells without adding extra hardware. Their team has been great to work with and always ready to help when we need it.”

A Promising Partnership
In just six months, Ambyint’s InfinityPL has proven its value, enhancing production, reducing inefficiencies, and supporting Tourmaline’s operational goals. The Tourmaline team continues to expand their deployment to additional operating areas. This collaboration is laying the groundwork for continued success, with a full case study on these results and further progress to be published in Spring 2025.
