Ambyint InfinityPL™ Reduces GHG Emissions by 48% on Plunger Lift Wells

Opportunity

Stabilization & Optimization of Wells

CNX Resources, a net carbon negative E&P company and a leading gas producer in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, was experiencing under-optimized gas production and a significant number of liquid loading events for their plunger lift wells. As a result, the CNX operations team was required to vent wells regularly to remediate liquid loading, leading to the release of natural gas GHG emissions, a decrease in gas production, and reduced workforce efficiency.

Solution

Ambyint InfinityPL™

Ambyint utilizes an enterprise-class cloud environment to deploy its plunger lift optimization solution, InfinityPL, across the customer’s plunger lift wells, allowing for enhanced analytics, improved physics-based insights, and autonomous management of plunger open/close triggers and setpoints. Deployment of InfinityPL included data integrations with the company’s existing SCADA and production accounting systems and required no additional hardware.

Results

48% ⇩ GHG Emissions
4% ⇧ Production Uplift

By implementing these technology and process improvements, the operator realized an increase in production of 4% and a decrease in well venting events by 48% translating to a 18MT reduction in CO2e emissions per well/ year allowing them to meet their corporate sustainability objectives.
